"Oh, Pearl, you were absolutely delightful!" Rose's laugh echoes throaty and pleased across the ship's bridge, and her mane of hair bounces with the lolling of her head. Her one hand is at Pearl's slender waist as they walk, sharp clack-clack-clack of heels and the barely-audible glide of dance shoes on lacquer, and her other hand gestures wildly in the air with her words, the way it does when she's in high spirits.
"When you showed Blue your holograms, why, I thought she was going to crack! And the looks on their faces as you so effortlessly handled the ship's control deck -- my stars, priceless." The quaking to her shoulders subsides at last with a heavy, satisfied breath, though her lips remain upturned, crinkling the corners of her eyes.
The two of them slow to a halt before the entrance to her chambers, and the diamond emblem etched upon the door glistens pink before it yields. Rose guides Pearl inside, where the cold smart steel of the ship's architecture melts into gentle sunshine and cotton-soft clouds, and the door reforms behind their backs.
Rose inhales, the blissful sweet scent of privacy. Demonstrative as they are before her comrades, there are still some things too precious, too bold, to be seen outside closed doors.
With a smooth sweep of her arm she draws Pearl closer, pressing a kiss into her hair -- silken fluffy curls that tickle pleasantly against her lips. "Those strategy meetings have been so much more fun since I got you," she breathes through a smile.

She follows Rose into the room, folds neatly into her arms like she was made to fit there. And after all, she was, wasn't she? The things Rose requires of her are far from standard, but in her obedience she's fulfilling her highest purpose. Rose's breath is warm, ruffling the strands of her hair, teasing at her skin. She turns her face into the generous curve of one shoulder.
"There was quite a bit of, um, excitement, in that room," she says.

"You were very exciting, Pearl." A graze of lips to temple, a low hum of praise. "There's been no pearl like you before, you know."

"I am aware of that," she says, quietly, and then, with a little more certainty, "That's entirely due to your guidance...Rose."

But Rose has always been fond of gardening, on the planets that allow it. It is endlessly more satisfying to watch things grow beneath her touch than wither. And the adorable puffing of Pearl's slight chest, pushing it up against her own -- satisfying.
The fingers of Rose's one hand rub little circles of heat into her scalp, the other's tracing along the notches in Pearl's spine. "Was it my guidance that made you eye the ship's mainframe so keenly the moment you were in the room with it, then?"

"I suppose I was excited! I mean -- I've practiced so extensively with the simulations, but the real thing...it always handles differently, somehow. Not that," she adds, "I ran into any difficulty with that. I was nervous, of course, but I think I did an acceptable job."
"And..." A shiver of delight runs up her spine, and she looks up at Rose. "I liked showing off, for you."
